Alonso’s first Ferrari appearance

Two time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso made his first appearance as a Ferrari driver in Northern Italy. Alonso, who has joined the squad from Renault for 2010, is taking part in their annual media gathering at the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort. He arrived by helicopter on Monday.

The event, which is dubbed ‘Wrooom’, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Over the next few days the Spaniard and his Ferrari team mates will hit the slopes, participating in several winter sports.

Alonso will have to wait until next month to get his first taste of his new car for 2010, when the sport’s pre-season test programme gets underway in Spain.
