Two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso of Spain won the Bahrain GP on Sunday in his first ever race for Italian giants Scuderia Ferrari. Ferrari took a 1-2 finish with Alonso’s team mate Felipe Massa from Brazil finishing in second. Lewis Hamilton from Britain closed out the podium in third for McLaren. Alonso earned 25 points for his win in a new points systems.
Justine Henin will face Jie Zheng in the semi finals of the Australian Open in her amazing comeback after defeating Nadia Petrova 7-6, 7-5 on Tuesday. Zheng defeated Maria Kirilenko 6-1, 6-3 in the quarter finals.
The Williams sisters are on different paths as Venus lost to 16th seed Na Li 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 and 1st seed Serena won 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 against 7th seed Victoria Azarenka to go through to the semi finals where she will face Li.
On Sunday night Justine Henin played another lenghty match against fellow Belgian, 20-year old Yanina Wickmayer, defeating her 7-6, 1-6, 6-3.
Justine played her heart out to go through to the quarter final, which she will play against Nadia Petrova, who defeated both Kim Clijsters as well as Svetlana Kuznetsova to get to this point in the tournament.
Justine was very excited after winning and said that it is great to be back on the court after a 2 year absence.
