On Saturday Serena Williams and Justine Henin will battle it out for the first grand slam title of the year. Who will the winner be? The current world number one, or the comeback queen?

My advice: don’t miss it! It’s gonna be awesome!!!

Justine Henin will face Jie Zheng in the semi finals of the Australian Open in her amazing comeback after defeating Nadia Petrova 7-6, 7-5 on Tuesday. Zheng defeated Maria Kirilenko 6-1, 6-3 in the quarter finals.

The Williams sisters are on different paths as Venus lost to 16th seed Na Li 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 and 1st seed Serena won 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 against 7th seed Victoria Azarenka to go through to the semi finals where she will face Li.

Justine is back, and how!

On Sunday night Justine Henin played another lenghty match against fellow Belgian, 20-year old Yanina Wickmayer, defeating her 7-6, 1-6, 6-3.

Justine played her heart out to go through to the quarter final, which she will play against Nadia Petrova, who defeated both Kim Clijsters as well as Svetlana Kuznetsova to get to this point in the tournament.

Justine was very excited after winning and said that it is great to be back on the court after a 2 year absence.

Seven-time grand slam winner Justine Henin made sure everyone knew she was back when she won her thrilling 2nd round match against 5th seed Elena Dementieva at the Australian Open on Wednesday night.

The match on the Rod Laver arena was worthy of a great final and lasted a gruelling 2 hours and 50 minutes. With approximately 15 000 onlookers in the crowd, and millions over the world watching on TV, Henin played a thrilling match.

Dementieva fought hard, but in the end Henin’s fire for the game had her take the win 7-5, 7-6 (8-6).

”It’s been a great fight. At the end with the nerves it was really difficult for me to close out the match … but I made it and I am really happy about that,” Henin said.

Henin will take on 27th seed Alisa Kleybanova on Friday in the 3rd round.

Maria Sharapova crashed out of the Australian Open in the first round today in her worst performance at a Grand Slam since the 2003 French Open.

Sharapova lost to fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko 7-6,3-6,6-4.

South Africa’s cricket team, The Proteas, won the fourth and final test against England at the Wanderers Stadium to level the series at 1-1.

The Proteas won by an innings and 74 runs.

Liverpool fails again

Last night Liverpool yet again crashed and burned in the FA Cup 3rd round against Reading at Anfield, losing 1-2 to the delighted visiting team.

Questions about Rafa Benitez has been asked the last few months, but what now? Chances are good that he will finally be given the boot. But is there really anyone better you can get to take Liverpool back to the glory they deserve? Only time will tell!
